Most Common Causes of Spirit, Entity and Demonic Attachments
Profound Sorrow for the Dead
Sorrow must be felt as profoundly as possible, yet the departed must be allowed to go. The vast majority of people are unaware that extreme anguish and misery may contribute to a soul's choice to reject to pass over to the Light and instead remain among the living. This is a self-centered mentality that will sooner or later turn against us. Sorrow and despair prevent the soul from leaving the realm of the living, although having every right and capacity to do so.
We do not consider how difficult it is for the leaving soul to leave all they loved, the people they lived for, and the everyday occupations and interests that gave them purpose. The spirit is torn because it does not know whether to remain among the living or go over to the Light. Each soul is given the necessary amount of time to go. If we do not allow them to move to the other side, the soul will lose the ability to exit by its own own as time passes.
Most commonly, a soul who has chosen not to go over to the other side will return to the family they just left. Eventually, the spirit will attach itself to the household members where it had inhabited and drain energy from them. Often, the bereaved are so crushed by their sorrow and loss that they are oblivious to the spirit's attachment to their energy. And by the time they recognize what is occurring, it is sometimes too late to break this link.
It should be mentioned that the majority of incidents of spirit possession occur quickly after the death of a close relative or acquaintance.
Destructive Emotions
Spirits are enticed to and fed by our bad feelings. The majority of individuals attract spirits when they are experiencing severe adverse emotions through difficult or traumatic life events (the death of a loved one, divorce, physical injury or sickness, job loss, etc.), harbour grudges, refuse to forgive, and/or have feelings of guilt.
Individuals who were reared in an abusive environment or who are engaged in an abusive relationship are likewise more prone to attracting ghosts. In such a hostile setting, it is common for the whole family to experience spirit connection. A huge proportion of those who deliberately or unwittingly identify as victims and go through life feeling helpless will be prone to spirit attachment. This is due to the fact that they blame others, feel sorry for themselves, have frequent desires to weep, and are usually in a negative state of mind.
Compulsive Addictions
When a person is hooked to something (drugs, alcohol, pornography, employment, etc.) while alive, death will not free them. Due to attachment to corporeal wants and demands, such a soul is unable to progress farther into Light. Since they cannot feel their addiction in an astral body, the need to fulfil their addiction becomes greater after they lose their physical body.
This is true for alcoholism, for example, since alcohol is a physical chemical, but a spirit exists on a different frequency, not physical, but in the astral body. To fulfil their craving for alcohol, the spirit must locate another live person who enjoys drinking. Such a person will enable the ghost to approach and "drink" from the drunkenness of the living person.
Even if an addict does not initially have ghosts, ghosts will gradually attach themselves to an addicted individual. A person who was not previously prone to addiction but has prevented the spirit of a loved one who was an alcoholic from going on to the light may suddenly become an alcoholic.
Altering consciousness with alcohol or drugs, especially hallucinogens, loosens ego boundaries, opening the subconscious mind to infestation by discarnate beings. The same holds true for the use of strong analgesics and the anesthetic drugs necessary in surgery. A codeine tablet taken for relief of pain from a dental extraction can alter the consciousness sufficiently to allow entry.
Calling Upon Dark Forces
Summoned spirits often end up inhabiting those who have engaged in beckoning games of any kind. Possession situations are often incredibly tough to cure. Spirits believe they were "invited," thus they have no plans to leave. Unfortunately, summoning games are highly popular among young people.
We get a lot of requests for aid from folks who have used a Ouija Board. It is also possible that spirits may not instantly possess individuals and will instead stay in the home where the séance was performed. Another family member may become possessed without realising anything. An entity may be difficult to identify at first, particularly if the spirit is pleasant, but once the channel is open, more spirits will be able to enter until there are so many that a human can no longer cope.
Unguided Spiritual Activities
Spiritual activities are similar to fire in that, when used correctly, they may keep our house warm and snug throughout the winter months, but when utilised incorrectly, they have the ability to burn our house down to the ground. As a result, any metaphysical activity should be handled with utmost care. Spirit attachment is the most typical side effect of a psychic activity that is done poorly or with bad intentions.
When it comes to spirit attachment, activities aimed to accelerate spiritual growth or obtain psychic talents are especially harmful. Spiritual practises that entail the use of drugs that momentarily change a person's level of awareness or give an out of body experience may also lead to spirit attachment. When a person goes outside of their physical body, a spirit might readily exploit the situation and steal it from them.
Haunted Locations
A spirit can linger in a place or structure, such as a battlefield or the house where it lived and died. The spirit may eventually become dissatisfied with its situation and decide to seek the Light on its own. There are people who specialize in haunting houses or buildings, as well as locations known to have "ghosts," such as cemeteries, battlefields, and stretches of highway where many unexplained accidents happen.
A client may remember being a haunting spirit who was eventually rescued by Light workers. The therapist keeps probing for a description of either joining the Light or joining another living person. When we think of haunted homes, we frequently envision an ancient, abandoned, and terrifying property that we'd be afraid to approach, much alone live in. Very intense incidents of haunting are rare.
There is a wide spectrum of visits, from minor and absolutely innocuous to really serious. Some disruptions by spirits just make people's lives more difficult, while others make life utterly impossible. Spirits sometimes strive to permanently attach themselves to humans (including children) who live in haunted homes. People will become apathetic, sluggish, and irritable. They may even get physically unwell at times.
Surgery under General Anesthesia
Physical trauma from auto collision, accidental falls, beatings, or a blow to the head can render a person vulnerable to intrusive enti ties. Even physical intrusions such as surgery or blood transfusion can lead to an entity attachment. Hence, before having any kind of operation, it is crucial to pray to God for protection of our body.
The weak, ill, exhausted, sleep-deprived, or old are prime targets for spirits looking for energy sources. Alternatively put, those who are already low in energy. This is due to the fact that they are ineligible to detect the activity of the spirit and adequately react to it. When we are not fully in control of our bodies, spirits will prey on the living. For instance, when we are unconscious undergoing surgery or other procedures, ghosts may take advantage of the chance to take our bodies.
